Kansas City Zoo is open 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays; 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekends. Admission is $11.50 for adults, $10.50 for seniors and $8.50 for children ages 3-11.

Send In the Clowns

 

Celebrate the start of National Clown Week at the Zoo on Sunday, August 1 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Enjoy face painters, laugh until your sides get sore and much more fun!  Shake hands with Sizzle from the T-Bones from 12 to 3 p.m. Also, learn about the antics of animals at the Kansas City Zoo.





 

Wild, Wacky and Wet Wednesday
Wednesday, August 4
$2 Admission, $2 Train rides and $2 Hot Dogs

It's a WILDLY FUN day at the Kansas City Zoo!  $2 admission (FOTZ Members are always free!); $2 train rides and $2 hot dogs.  Make a day of it! 

Cool down at the Zoo on a warm summer day; get drenched by the sprinkler towers; and come splash in the water and play fun games on Wednesday, August 4
!  Learn and watch as the animals keep cool during the summer.

Polar Bear Passage Opening Soon!

Due to extreme weather conditions, the construction schedule has been altered.  Please stay tuned and continue visit the Zoo to watch the progress.

Installation of the "green roof." It is a living roof of native plants that will save on storm water run off, provide habitat and shade and will add an extra layer of insulation to the building.










This is a view form the train tracks. On the right is the indoor air-conditioned viewing building with floor to ceiling above- and below- water viewing.











Grass-crete is being installed to aid in erosion control in the grassy area. Egg-crate like molds are being installed, concrete is poured in the aisles and buffalo grass plugs will be planted in the center of each mold.

Safari Sleep-over, Saturday, August 14
 

Enjoy a sleepover with all your friends in the Zoo Learning Center. Discover the Zoo's ambassador animals and explore the Zoo after hours to see what the animals do at night (weather permitting).

The next Safari Sleepover is
Saturday, August 14 from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. and includes a continental breakfast. Register by Friday, July 30 for all the fun!
