Polar Bear Arctic Ambassador Program and Research Project

Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium has partnered with Polar Bears International to take a more active role in Polar Bear conservation. This robust program will serve the polar bear population and the visitors of our Zoo equally. Through this partnership, we support Polar Bears International and its efforts to learn about bears in the wild and to teach the rest of the world about the effects of climate change. Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium staff members also participate in the Climate Alliance Program located in Churchill Manitoba, Canada in order to gain first-hand knowledge of tactics and strategies that can be related back to the citizens of Kansas City. This program is led by Waters Edge Manager, Andrea O’Daniels and Waters Edge Keeper II, Georgia Eckett.
