The Kansas City Zoo and Aquarium has partnered with the Texas based organization, Sea Turtle Inc. to conserve and protect sea turtles, including the critically endangered Kemp's Ridley Sea turtle. This comprehensive project plays a crucial role in species recovery through research, rehabilitation, education, and community engagement. Sea Turtle, Inc. actively participates in bi-national efforts to protect nesting sea turtles and their eggs, in addition to rehabilitating and releasing thousands of sea turtles into their natural habitat. Through this collaboration led by Animal Care Manager, Kelsey Dougherty, Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium supplies essential resources to Sea Turtle, Inc. to help conserve sea turtles for future generations.
