The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is offering an exciting summer experience for a select number of Kansas City’s children. Throughout the summer, the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium will make a limited amount of scholarships available for children to participate in some of the zoo’s summer programming. All scholarships will subsidize up to 90% of the program fee; awardees will be required to pay the remaining balance.
The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium awards scholarships to families and individuals based on their financial need and available space. Below are the guidelines:
- Scholarships are available for grades K-12.
- Only submit one application for all individuals within the same family.
- Applications must be submitted online by Friday, March 8, 2024 to be considered. NO EXCEPTIONS!
- All scholarships may be subsidized up to 90% of the program fee; awardees will be required to pay the remaining balance. This percentage is based off the non-FOTZ member program pricing.
- All applicants will be notified via email of their status by March 2024. Please do not email or phone about the status of your application.
- If you are awarded a scholarship, your application will constitute as your camp registration. An online payment link will be sent. The remaining balance must be paid by Friday, April 19, 2024.
- If you are awarded a Summer Camp 2024 Scholarship, you will be ineligible to receive a scholarship for Winter Break Camp 2024 or Spring Break Camp 2025.
Scholarships are awarded FIRST by Space Available. SECONDLY, by the level of Financial Need, and THIRDLY, by the Date the application is received. Please send:
- Documentation of eligibility/participation in free and reduced lunch program or other government assistance MUST be attached to your online application.
- If you do not have these item(s), we still encourage you to apply!
Scholarships are available for our 4-Day Camp Summer Camps ONLY June-August, 2024:
- Scholarships are NOT available for Friday Single Day camps.
- The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium will provide daily lunches and one T-shirt.
- Parents are responsible for sending 2 daily snacks for this program. If your child has special dietary needs, we highly suggest you pack snacks and a lunch daily.
