Go on a journey and earn your badge at the Zoo! Workshops are now available to help girls complete the Think Like a Citizen Scientist journey and STEM Career Exploration badge.
Math in Nature – Daisies & Brownies
These workshops focus on a badge from the Math in Nature series: Shapes in Nature, Numbers in Nature, or Design with Nature. Girl scouts will learn about how math is intertwined within the natural world through guided tour and hands-on activities. Girl scouts will also learn about how they interact with the environment and ways they can help make a difference.
STEM Career Exploration – Juniors & Cadettes
Have you ever wondered what it takes to care for wild animals? Do you enjoy learning about the tools scientists use? Have you wished you could save an endangered animal? This workshop will explore these questions and the careers available to biologists. Participation in this workshop can complete the requirements of the STEM Career Exploration badge for Juniors and Cadettes.
Photo Explorers – Juniors & Cadettes
Visit the Zoo to explore photography and take part on a guided scavenger hunt to capture special animal moments. Scouts are welcome to bring their own cameras, but are not required. This workshop will introduce scouts to terminology, some best practice techniques, and experience taking photos of animals in the park.
