Dive Volunteers work under the direct supervision of the Dive Safety Officer and Animal Care Staff to support the Zoo & Aquarium’s animals, employees, and mission. Volunteer Divers do not handle animals but will generally assist with the upkeep of their habitats.
Please note: Applicants must have a current Open Water Certification and have completed a minimum of 20 dives to be considered. Please refer to the volunteer position description for all qualifications. This is a highly competitive program with limited spots; applicants will be reviewed and selected based on availability, experience, and commitment. Any Dive Volunteers found not meeting requirements may be removed from the program at any time. Please see the Pathway to Diving information below.
