
Girl Scout Night at the Zoo
Fall 2026 Programs
Come enjoy an evening with other Girl Scouts around the Zoo. This special event for scouts will include a night hike and s’mores, along with activity stations that will help you learn and practice the skills scientists use to study animals in the wild. Programs this Fall will also include admission to the lantern festival, GloWild!
Sleeping Locations
Sleeping locations are available at different rates and available first come, first serve:
- Sobela Ocean Aquarium -$99per person
- Helzburg Penguin Plaza* -$84per person
- Zoo Learning Center -$69per person
- Evening Only Attendee -$54per person
Things to Know
Campers will need to provide their own sleeping gear (sleeping bag, cot, etc.). Sleeping arrangements will indoors. This program is rain or shine. If you have any questions, please call 816-595-1765 or email [email protected]
All overnight guests must arrive between 5:30pm and 6:00pm to drive their vehicles into the Zoo. They should arrive and park in the lower Red Parking Lot before being directed into the Zoo.
Evening Only guests may arrive anytime between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Evening only may park in any available lot.
Girl Scout Safety Reminders: Participants are responsible for following overnight protocols and maintaining ratios.
Supervision: This is not a drop-off event. Troop Leaders/caregivers are required to provide appropriate adult safety ratio and supervision for their attending Girl Scout and/or troop throughout the event, per Girl Scouts Safety Activity Checkpoints. This is considered a high-risk event: all girls will need to be registered Girl Scouts, and all attending adults will need to be background checked.
Tagalongs: tagalongs are not allowed during this event.
*The Helzberg Penguin Plaza and Polar Bear Passage are unable to guarantee separated sleeping spaces designated for male participants, which is a Girl Scout requirement. In the event a separate space is needed, an alternative sleeping space will be available in a separate building.
