The Great Pumpkin Rescue

Give your Halloween pumpkins a second life at The Great Pumpkin Rescue, facilitated by KC Compost! Bring your leftover pumpkins and gourds to the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium's Purple Lot for composting and help keep organic waste out of landfills.

This free community event is open to everyone. Accepted items include natural pumpkins and gourds only. To ensure materials can be properly composted, please remove and do not bring pumpkins that contain paint, glitter, candle wax, decorations, stickers, or plastic bags.
