Touch a Truck

Get ready for a hands-on adventure the whole family will love! Bring the kids to see, touch, and explore an exciting lineup of vehicles and equipment that help keep our community safe and growing—many of which are used regularly at the KC Zoo! Vehicles scheduled to attend include patrol vehicles, an armored vehicle, ambulance, fire truck, skid-steer loader, boom lift, scissor lift, digger derrick, and bucket truck.

Along the way, guests can meet the real-life professionals who build, protect, and serve Kansas City, learn about their jobs, and discover how these powerful machines help them do what they do every day. Also check out the new Excavation Station between Alligator Alley and Discovery Playground where children can operate electronic fun-sized construction equipment for free!

Touch a Truck is free with Zoo admission or membership and will be held rain or shine—so come ready for an unforgettable day of big vehicles, big learning, and big fun!

Thank you to our amazing partners for making this experience possible!

For the wellbeing of the animals in our care and all guests, noise levels will be kept to a minimum, including sirens, horns, and other loud sounds.

Please note that the availability of vehicles can change throughout the day, as they can be called into emergency service.
