The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is offering an exciting experience for a select number of Kansas City’s children. Throughout the year, the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium will make a limited amount of scholarships available for children to participate in some of the zoo’s programming. All scholarships will subsidize up to 90% of the program fee; awardees will be required to pay the remaining balance.
The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium awards scholarships to families and individuals based on their financial need and available space. Below are the guidelines:
- Scholarships are available for children between the ages of 5-12.
- Only submit one application for all individuals within the same family.
- All applicants will be notified via email of their status by the specified date. Please do not email or phone about the status of your application.
- Winter Scholarship applications must be submitted online by Friday, October 24, 2025 to be considered. Winter Scholarship applicants will be notified via email by Friday, November 14, 2025.
- All scholarships may be subsidized up to 90% of the program fee; awardees will be required to pay the remaining balance. This percentage is based off the non-FOTZ member program pricing.
- If you are awarded a scholarship, your application will constitute as your camp registration. An online payment link will be sent. The remaining balance must be paid by November 28, 2024 for Winter Scholarships..
- If you are awarded Winter Break Camp 2025 or Spring Break Camp 2026 Scholarship, priority will be given to other applicants with regards to Summer Camp 2026 scholarships.
Scholarships are awarded by the following prioritized criteria: Space Availability, Prior Scholarship Receipt, level of Financial Need, and by the Date the application is received. Please send:
- Documentation of eligibility/participation in free and reduced lunch program or other government assistance MUST be attached to your online application.
- If you do not have these item(s), we still encourage you to apply!
Scholarships are available for selective Camps ONLY :
- Winter Scholarships are available for select November, December, and January School's Out Camps only.
- The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium will provide daily lunches. If your child has special dietary needs, we highly suggest you pack a lunch daily.
- Parents are responsible for sending 2 snacks daily for this program.
