Giraffe Crossing Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Arrive before the Zoo opens on May 29 (NEW DATE!) for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and then stay to see the giraffes. Tram transportation will be provided from World Gate Station to the Africa Kopje, near Giraffe Crossing. The Zoo's new giraffe mascot will be on hand for photo ops!
Zoo Garden Walking Tour

Shark Feeding Experience

Tortoise Encounter

Morning with the Kangaroos!

Get crackin’ early for an Australian-themed adventure with the Zoo’s kangaroos! Join others and watch as our mob bounds onto their expansive exhibit to start the day and learn about the Australian animals that call KCZoo home. This is a memorable experience few have had the pleasure to witness!
Veterinary Health Tour

Event is subject to weather and animal availability.This exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our Veterinary Health department will give you an insider’s view at all that goes into the care of our animals. From radiology to lab work, the many aspects of veterinary care will be explored during this tour. Meet some of our incredible team and learn what it’s like to care for elephants, lions, and penguins!
Camel Encounter

Event is subject to weather and animal availability.Get up close with the Zoo’s camels as you learn all about these desert dwellers' amazing features. You will even have the opportunity to feed our one-humped friends some of their favorite treats.
Sloth Encounter
Maximum 5 guests, ages 2 and up, no service animals allowed. Due to the small space, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs, scooters, or strollers for this experience.. Event is subject to weather and animal availability.Hang with Arnie, the laid-back two-toed sloth. During this experience, you'll have the rare opportunity to enter Arnie's habitat and get up close and personal with our laid-back friend.. As you learn about Arnie's daily routine and quirky habits, you'll quickly fall in love with this slow-moving personality.
Cheetah Carcass Feeding

This experience includes viewing a natural feeding and may not be suitable for all guests. This experience does not allow guests to touch, feed or physically interact with the cheetahs. Children under 18 years old must have an adult. Service animals are not permitted. Event is subject to weather and animal availability. If necessary, experiences will be rescheduled to another date.Join us before the zoo opens for a rare opportunity to observe the cheetahs during a natural feeding. Guests will watch as the cheetahs feed on a carcass while learning about our cheetah brothers. Please note: This program includes viewing a natural feeding and may not be suitable for all guests.

This hands-on, insider experience offers a rare look at the care and creativity that goes into every animal’s day.
